I have been thinking about this for about a year, maybe a little longer. Me and my fiancé want to have a baby but we only want to have a baby girl. I have a daughter already and I asked her if she wanted a little sister.

She seems very excited.

But I want to know if there's a way to make sure I will have a girl, without having to do anything possibly dangerous. Or having to pay all kinds of money for a procedure.

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

Also, I know there is nothing 100% but any options would be helpful.

No there is nothing you can do, that is not though a doctor, clinic and would be very costly ( and not covered by insurance)

It was thoughtless to ask child if she wanted a baby sister, you ask if they want a baby brother or sister, or if they want to be a big sister.

There's no way to determine the sex of the child you'll have. That's all up to fate.

I'm curious, what do you have against boys? Sons are wonderful. What would you do if you decided to have another child and you had a son? I feel sorry for this hypothetical child already. :(

Im not terribly against having a son, simply would prefer a daughter. Of course, if and when the time comes, I know it would not matter once it happens, what gender.

I fully expected some bad responses. However, I was asking simply for some advise for possible help.

As for my daughter, she is still young, and has not asked about it after the initial question.

There are some people that believe that you can heighten your chances for one sex or the other, but their methods aren't proven.

I do know that my cousin had two sons and desperately wanted a daughter. She went online and researched, followed a method she found (really couldn't tell you what it was) and sure enough she had a daughter. My other cousin followed the same method after her two sons, and had 2 more sons. Frankly, I think my first cousin just ended up having a daughter because that's what it was, not because of something she did.

Do some research, there are people that claim that certain methods work. I just posted because I know that there's no fool proof method, and I really was concerned what you would do if you got pregnant and had a little boy, because you seem to be so against having a son.

I have one of each. My son was my first child, and I desperately wanted a boy first. I never expected to have a daughter, girls are rare in both my husbands family and mine. When my daughter was born and the doctor said "it's a girl", I asked him to check again because I didn't believe him.

I love both of my kids so very much. I hope that whatever you get, you'll love. Boys are a blessing too. :)

A year and a half ago, you were on CalWorks and your fiancé was on SSI (and you were in danger of getting kicked out of the house). That's having children at the expense of the taxpayer, the very people you are asking for advice from on how to have another girl. Not right and not responsible.

Did it not occur to you that things in a life can change? Yes, so long ago I was having problems. I would not even think about bringing more life without being able to handle or support it.

You don't know me, or my situation. And there is no point in informing you either, because who am I to say you would believe me.

Now, regardless, thank you to those who gave possitive or neutral feedback, further consideration will be put into this, since it is a huge decision. As of now, I am on BC, IUD, a 5 year one. As well as I am not longer living in the home where the eviction took place.

I know there needs to be financial, mental and physical ability and responsibility needed for a child, especially for more then one child. I know I am young, but I am able to do a lot with my child.

My most recent endeavor with my daughter is perfect for the season, we are growing pumpkins and other plants. Off topic, but she enjoys it.

That would be a great way to ensure that you have a girl, but also give a child a home.

Be prepared that adopting an infant can take years. If you want a specific gender it will take even longer. Adopting an older child will still take time, but not nearly as long as it does to adopt an infant.

I don't know where you live, but in Canada, where I am, it's best to start by being a foster parent. By doing this the case workers get to know you, and adoption is often easier if you foster first. Also, to foster you must past inspection, fill out all the forms you would if you were adopting. When you choose to adopt that part of the process is already done.

But that's in Canada. I have no idea what the process is in the States.
