Possible damage from too much Ibuprofen
In the 5 days prior to the pain starting I had a really bad fever/sore throat, for which I was taking ibuprofen. I was taking 200mg tabs, 2 at a time as suggested on the bottle. However there were points where I would take 2 ibuprofen wait 3 hours, and nothing would happen, so I would go back and take another 2,the fever went on for roughly five days so I was taking quite a few ibuprofen per day. After the fever went away I stopped taking ibuprofen immediately, however about a day later there was blood in my stool. Then a day after that the pain started, it is a momentary throbbing in my upper intestine/stomach area. It tends to come in waves, and is the worst when I'm lying down. Now I'm seriously concerned I might have taken too much ibuprofen. It also feels like my stomach is churning fairly constantly. I'm not sure what to do since everything I have read suggest that my possible abuse of ibuprofen wasn't long or sever enough to cause serious damage. What should I do?

I'd call my Physician in the AM and ask. I had a stomach ulcer, and the pain was very similar to what you are describing.

I don't think you took enough to damage your liver, but it is a possibility.

    Better to ask than worry.

    Please let me know.

IF you don't have an underlying condition.
