Kenmore dishwasher blinking light AFTER code
    Hi all,
I've had the Kenmore blinking green clean light of DEATH, and yes, I did use the reset sequence, and yes, it did go through a test cycle, but when I try to run a regular cycle it seems to work only to end in the blinking light syndrome.
Is the heating element out? How can I tell if this is a relatively simple mechanical repair (replace the heating element) or a more sophisticated computer style repair. I've had the machine since Jan. 2006.
    Any help appreciated!

Hi Meteor, my name is Rich and I own an appliance repair service business in Boise Idaho. I've been in repair for over 25 years. Ok, on with the issue,

The clean light blinks because the control board see a interruption or a open in the heater circuitry OR, and this is a big one, that the water temperature is not rising when the heater is activated. A quick check would be to look at that heater very closely to see of you can see any burning or holes. If you see a bubble or holes in it, replace it. Here's some other things to check: The dishwasher thermostat may have "opened". The control board may have some burning at the connector. Look for any char on the dishwasher control board. Next, check to make sure the motor is running. If it does run, check to make sure the water is circulating properly. If it's not, the water will not heat properly. Hope this helps,
    Rich
