    Student Visa
    Hello,
I was just accepted to an Ontario College and am looking for help with the next step. I have been doing a lot of research and I have figured some things out, but a lot is still a mystery.
    My questions include:
    1. I know I can apply online but also I can apply at the Port-of-Entry which is faster and or more helpful?
    2. I am going to get my family to sign affidavits of support to both show support and ties back to the states. I have found some outlines online and I can probably put one together myself (unless you have one available). I am wondering if my family need to sign it in front of a lawyer? Also what documentation should I have them provide to show that they can support me (I was thinking of just asking if they would send me a copy of last years tax forms)?
    3. On one website it said that I should show strong ties to the US to show that I am willing and able to go back after I graduate. What are some good examples of this (besides my family writing affidavits of support)?

    Thanks for your time

Student visa cannot be obtained at port of entry, you must apply to the consulate. Once you got acceptance letter from college, there should not be any problem.

Thank you! I have received my letter and I am getting affidavits of support from my family. I have also found I can apply online (and it is recommended many places because it is faster) is there any advantages to doing it this way?

    Thank you
