    Hearing Loss Question
    Hi,

I wanted to get a general consensus on what people would do in the following situation. If you were a relatively young person (late 20s-early 30s) and you had a hearing loss your whole life and as the years have gone on, you see that your hearing is getting worse, would you get a cochlear implant to dramatically improve your hearing or try to get by with hearing aids until a possible cure comes out? I guess the reason I ask is due to being self-conscious looks-wise about hearing aids. To me it has always come down to the following question, do I want to sacrifice looks for hearing and unfortunately I am always torn between the two.

    Thanks for reading!

You make the choice of what's best for you and try to leave vanity out of the equation.

Your best bet would be to consult with an ENT (Ear,Nose and Throat) specialist and get an inform opinion of your options. There are an awful lot of people with hearing devices so it's not something to be vain about. The implants work well but are not suited for everyone.

I see people, especially young people, walking around wearing ear buds and Bluetooth headsets and ear plugs, so I'm guessing no one will even notice you with a hearing aid. Most aidsc are very unnoticeable.
