Had a new hot water heater installed last week. Went to use the 3rd floor washing machine 4 days later to find NO cold water pressure only hot. However, I still have cold water pressure to sinks, showers, and tubs on the 3rd floor... What could be the problem??

Remove the cold water hose and clean the screen in the hose as well as the screen at the washing machine valve itself... should resolve the issue. Here, when the water heater was installed they must have kicked some sediment up into the cold water supply and it clogged these real small screens.
