    Soulmate
How do you know when you've found your soulmate?

    You just know...

Sorry, no better way to explain it.

That's tricky because you just don't know, like most people say you do.. the person could be the most amazing person in the world and turn south right away.. take your time with them and really learn about who they are and what there about. Then after all that time and they haven't changed and understand you and love you. They are your soulmate

    True...

My "soulmate" tore my heart out and crapped all over it.

When they have stood the test of time and reality, and you are old and still see them as young. Then you know they are your soul mate. Until then, don't be fooled by your own emotions and give them the title.

Really.. My life experience is you most certainly do... because that one relationship is going to stand out far above all others you have ever had... no matter how good those others might have been.
A soul mate is a near perfect natural fit... one you don't HAVE to work hard for. You instinctively know the other persons thoughts almost before they have them.

Do not believe there is any such thing, this assumes that a higher power or a god of some sort has made a person just for you, Seldom is this the case. The thing is, relatioinships take a lot of work and many do not do well. A relationship is only as good as the effort each person puts into it.

I know there is... because I've actually met one... (no it wasn't the one I married).

Fact is most people never actually meet theirs (there might even be more than one out there)... and even if they do... it doesn't mean they are meant to be together... or even should be.

Who says there can only be one soul mate in ones life? There may be millions.

You don't, you feel so good and believe it or want to anyway, but reality changes things and often drastically. Hard to accept a soul mate hates you and wants to leave after a time, days, months, even years.

So leave that soul mate crap out of the equation period. Deal with reality at all times. Then you will know.

Perfectly said... this is what I was trying to convey when I said my soulmate tore my heart out and crapped on it. I learned from that.

smkanand, this was answered. Did you read before posting?

And I'm with FrChuck and others on this - I don't believe there's one soulmate.

Relationships take time and work. And, yes, I have a soulmate somewhere out there. We simply couldn't make the relationship work. That doesn't mean we won't always care for each other. It just means he was my soulmate but not "the one."
