Can someone that has been in prison for 19 yrs reopen his case to get a second chance/
Does he have legal grounds to reopen the case? You can't request another trial (if that is what you are asking) just because you want one.
Hello v:
Sure he can, if new evidence becomes available.

Well he didn't have anyone in the USA to help him out when he got sentenced, all his family was in another country. The defense lawyer of course was the one appointed to him as he didn't have money or help. He barely had turn 18 yrs when he got sentenced. He didn't have priors and it was in the time where they triple all the counts. Yet in all the report there's really not enough evidence of some charges, the DNA was negative and he didn't kill anyone. Mainly house robbery, auto theft etc.. They gave him like 85 yrs origionally. He needs a chance. Im trying to find some honest answers. Thanks for your help...

Hello again, v:
Contact the Innocence Project...

He was sentenced to 85 years with no priors for breaking into a house? Was he alone? Were other people with him, perhaps armed?
I agree - the Innocence Project is underfunded, but they do great work.
I would not discredit an assigned Attorney - many do very good work. I don't understand the sentence if there was no proof - ? How was DNA involved?
Thank You. But even if he's not innocent of all charges??
Hello again, v:
What's the worst they can tell you? No?

True!! Thanks for helping... I just don't understand, how can someone that killed, murder etc that has life sentence can go before the parole board every year, and some come out and someone with a release date ( it can be 60 yrs etc. ) but with a release date can't?? Its crazy
