Dear Dr, am five weeks pregnant and 2 days ago, I decidedv to terminate the pregnancy through vaginal insertion of 800 mcg of cytotec. I only bled for 8 hrs with 2 big clots after which the flow completely stopped. A day later I started spotting with some brownish stuff on my pant.did another pregnancy test today and it is still posive. What could be the meaning of this? Please help!

After miscarriage a pregnancy test can still show positive for weeks after. The hcg hormone doesn't automatically leave your system, it can take some time.

Having said that, there's no way to know if this abortion medication actually worked. If you want to find out if you miscarried the child, see your doctor. Seeing your doctor is recommended anyway, as not all miscarriages are complete.

Cytotec is a very dangerous medication and should never be used by anyone outside of the medical profession.
