How do you have a person deported
I have a patient who is an illegal immigrant that my employer has been trying to have deported for months. He is reasonably healthy, bilateral amputee and very bitter. He has assaulted staff members, knocking one person's tooth out; throws things at staff etc. We have attempted to have him deported however INS says they have an extreme case load and are currently only reviewing cases of illegals that are a threat. He has legal family who refuse to take him so we are stuck. Any ideas ?

Why not have him arrested when he gets out of hand like that?

I agree with calling the police for the assault issues. Also consider calling adult protective services. What type of medical facility do you work in?

I do not believe a person can have another person deported. The state decides whether to deport people and in the current political climate, people aren't likely to be deported unless they get in trouble with the law. Reporting his violent episodes might get them to consider the action.

You have to be kidding? He is a threat to himself and others, and here (in Cdn system) would be In a lock down unit, because from what you describe, he is psychiatric.

You are a registered nurse and you can't figure this out. Do you not do reports on him and submit?

Not that easy apparently if he is in a medical facility wherever that is.
