    You can't just pluck an answer out of the air. How did you come up with "0"?

    Msephus - If you have you come up with an arrangement of the numbers that achiecves the magic square then you wouldn't need our confirmation that your answer is correct. However as a hint, consider that the 9 numbers you have been given are all evenly spaced 4 uniots apart, and so can be mapped in a linear way to the digits 1 through 9, where -16 maps to 1, -12 to 2, -8 to 3, and so. If you know how to solve a classic magic square using numbers 1 through 9 you can map the numbers you have been given directly onto that solution.

    Same way you do a traditional magic square using the numbers 1 through 9, except subtract 5 from each entry. Thus if you know where the number 8 goes in a traditional magic square, that's where 8-5=3 goes in this "shifted" version.
