    Legal guardianship for sister's children
    Sir,

I am roja from chennai, India. My younger sister got married 27-10-2010 and delivered twins (a boy and girl) on 25-09-2011. She dead on 09-10-2011 due to blood clot on brain. We told, take both the children to her husband on her death day. Her husband does not bothered about the children and left the child to us. He had given mental torture after 4 months, we returned both the children to him. We enquired many advocates about the legal guardianship. All of them told, Father is a natural guardian.

I want to have the legal guardianship of the children for their best future. My sister husband is not taking care the children properly.

Please advice us how to proceed in this case.

If the father is abusing the children call your local family services agency. But without that you won't be able to fight the father for guardianship.

Because of the way you have the dates I have to ask what country this is happening in? This way we can try our best to give you answers for your area. If this is the U.S. then please let us know what State this is in. Sorry for the loss of your sister and thank you for caring for the children.
