My ex husband won't let me talk to or see my kids
Hello I have 2 girls and I gave the custody to my ex husband because my parents made me and I honestly couldn't take care of them myself but in the Court of law it says that I'm allowed to talk to my kids and see them every summer but as soon as he landed in his country which is in northern part of iraq he stopped contacting me I emailed him just to send me pictures of my daughters he did one time and this is since 2010 so now he just ignores me. I honestly don't know what to do I really want to see my kids and talk to them if there is any chance I would love to get them back and take care of them myself please someone help on what I can do about this I know he is not allowed to do that.

Where are you located? Where is the court that issued you visitation rights?

This is going to be a tough one as Im not sure there are treaties yet with Iraq. Also Islamic law is very different from traditional law.

There is almost nothing you can do. You needed to have stopped the children from living your nation. In Iraq there is nothing you can really do.

Sorry to have to say this, but there is probably nothing you can do. The only suggestion I can make is to contact the State Dept or you local congressperson to see if there is anything that can be done.

The problem is not whether the law is the same, but whether they will honor US court rulings. And that's where the State Dept comes in. This may help:
Parental Kidnapping & The Hague Convention - Minnesota Divorce Source

One thing that you may be able to do is have a warrant sworn out against him by the court that issued the visitation order. So if he does try to re-enter the US he can be detained for contempot of court.

Yes that's exactly what I wanted to do a warrant I'm just going to ask if they can do that for me if they do that'll be sooo great. Thank you so much
