    Tree roots
I have mature soft maple trees that have roots growing on top of the ground. Would it damage the trees if I got a stump grounder and ground the exposed roots off level with the top of the ground? Many of the roots are already half split open, but the trees all appear to be healthy.

Yes it would damage the trees. This is a natural way for them.
