    Do I need to file 1099 G?
    Hello,

I moved from F-1 to H-1B visa on October 1,2012 but I'm filing tax as a non-resident (1040 NR-EZ). I know earlier I've ignored the 1099-INT forms but I was just wondering if it would change this time given my visa status change?

I also took the benefit of the Standard deduction offered by US-India tax treaty on my 1040 NR-EZ, not sure if that would affect this in any way?

    Thanks.

If you are SINGLE, you will file Forms 1040NR-EZ and 8843 one last time, because you have not yet met the Substantial Presence Test. If you file this way, you can still NOT report the income on Form 1099-INT.

If you are MARRIED, you have other options. Let me know if you are married.
