What does it mean when my heart hurts every once in awhile?

It means you make an appointment with a doctor.

Okay and can that be symptoms of heart disease since I don't get enough sleep or eat like I should be?

Yes, it can be a symptom of that, and hundreds of other things.

How do you know it's your heart?

Because it is right on the left side of my upper body and when the pain comes every once in awhile I can feel my heart beating when I place my hand where the pain is.

That's no proof it's your heart. Are you obese? What is your blood pressure reading? Pulse rate?

I'm most definitely not obese and blood pressure &pulse rates I wouldn't know of right now but last I was checked they were fine.

So it might not be your heart. It could be gall bladder or gas pains or early ulcers or who knows what. Time for a doctor to check you.
