violation of probation Maryland and restitution
I have a court hearing on Monday.for probabtion violation.
violation #1 driving without a license
#2 - not paying enough restituion

As I work full time and have a daughter to support, I am unable to take of work to get my license, and prefer taking the bus. I drove the truck to move my furniture into a new place, know no one where I moved to help. My boss let me use the truck not knowing that I did not have a license.

I only make $11 an hour, and it seems like every time I get paid, I have expenses that are more than my pay.

At this point, I am ready to just go to jail, as at least I would have food.
Obviously, I am the only caregiver for my child, with help from no one, so that is not an option.

I have NO time at work to look into the laws, and shouldn't even be typing this.

I am praying that someone can advise me on what I can do to resolve the issue at hand. Thank you , and God Bless

What are you on probation for? That might matter.

I can understand the "not enough money to pay restution" part. I'm having difficulty with the "I had no choice and so - " part. I suspect the Court will, too.

And lying to your employer? I'm surprised you still have a job.

You need to find a legal aid attorney.

I was given watches by as watchmaker I worked with. The watches were worth a lot of money. Not knowing they were stolen, I spawned them to buy clothes for my kids for school. Long story short is myself and the watchmaker split the restitution.
The charge is for theft over a $ 10000. With backup time of 18months . I have paid some restitution but only what I can afford. I got a job in July, was making $8 an hour when I started.

My rent was 500 a Month plus utilities.
I take public transportation, I have gone to every po visit, with the exception of one time I could not get off work due to short staffing.

I have recently moved into a one bedroom apartment with someone and am paying 350 plus utilities , as the place I was living would not let me have my daughter there and her father doesn't want her.

I have taken off work Monday to go to the crisis center for help because my daughter was crying because the place we moved into, they are doing illegal activities . We have been looking for places but can't afford to pay a $1200 deposit .

I am not sure what is going to happen Monday, I am hoping ifi tell the judge my situation, they will not send me away to jail.

My probation officer is very nice. I have told him everything. He says my biggest problem is that I haven't paid enough restitution.
My plan is to ask the judge to come up with a payment plan I can afford, ask for community service to pay it back, or to put the restitution on hold until I get in a safe place I can afford for my daughter.

I hope this.makes sense and I really appreciate you responding. I am hoping you have some advice to help me, because I am ready to explode with anxiety and am trying mybest not to scare my daughter.

    Thank you, j

They will most likely put you back on probation.

I appreciate all your help. I am not sure if this is a good idea or not so advise if you feel fit.

I am hoping that the judge.will make a.payment plan for the restitution. I am asking them to take into.consideration the.factors of me being sole provider for.a.12 year old child who recently has had to move twice ,which caused more financial strain.
I have never gotten assistance but decided in order to commit to paying, I desperately need help as I can't afford to support myskef, much less her.

I also have a 15 year old who lives w his dad and comes to me on the weekend. Who has to.be fed.

I am bringing a letter from my employer stating that I come to work on time and stay late (,sometimes an hour and a half knowing that I will not be paid overtime). I am a reliable employee.

I am not sure what to say about driving without a license, as there is no excuse for my behavior. Stupidity comes to mind.
I also gave false information to police. I was afraid I was going to jail that night . I just started a job I didn't want to lose as it took me 7 months to get it

If you have advice as to what I should say or do or any suggestions at all as I am famous for saying too much and screwing it up.

I CAN'T let my daughter down. Not this time.
