Get "Fathers" name off my sons birth certificate
My son was born in Los Angels county in California 11 years ago. The man listed on his birth certificate was my ex-boyfriend, who was proven to not be his father when my son was around 9 months old, by court ordered DNA testing. We haven't seen him since. I want to get his name off the birth certificate but have no other name to replace it with and would like to leave it blank. My son has my last name, so I do';t need to change that, but I would like to amend his middle name. He has two middle names on his birth certificate but he only goes by one. I would like to get all of this done at the same time if possible. Thank You for anyone that can help

You will need to go to court to amend the BC. If you have a court order declaring him to not be the bio father, it should be fairly simple. Contact the CA bureau of Vital Statistics for the process.

Was he declared by the courts to not be the legal father? DNA has nothing to do with being the legal father.

Well after the DNA test he didn't have to pay any child support. I'm not exactly sure if the courts didn't declare him the legal father or not.

You need to find out. If he is still the legal father then your going to have a tougher time removing his name if not impossible.

Don't you have copies of the court orders? If not, you need to get them before you pursue anything.
