    Hunter Ceiling Fan with remote
    "I am installing a Hunter Ceiling Fan with remote, into an existing light location: Black, Red, White and Green wires come out of the ceiling box,one switches on the wall to turn on lights. New fan has remote box with Black and White wires: what do I do?

    The reason the above question was asked is to find out if the existing ceiling box can support the weight of the fan. If it is not listed to hold that weight, it will eventually be a floor fan.

    Can you please attach a picture of the ceiling box shoing the conductors inside the box and another of the conductors attached to the switch.

    Without seeing what you are looking at, you may be able to disconnect the switch loop circuit, if that is what it is and just connect the power supply conductord to the remote unit and the remote unit to the fan.

    However, if there power is being fed to the switch first, then the sitch would have to be removed and the face plate replaced ith a blank faceplate.

    So we really need to understand what wiring plan was installed to feed the fan.
