    Word problem please help
    opening night of a theater sold a total of 1,000 tickets. The front row area cost $80 a seat, the back row area cost $60 a seat, and the balcony area cost $50 a seat. Total revenue from tickets was 62,800. The combined total for thee front and back seats was equal to the number of balcony seats sold. Find the number of tickets sold for each area.

    A. Begin by identifying your variables:
    X=
    Y=
    Z=

    B. set up your first equation showing the number of tickets totaling 1,000.
    C. Set up your second equation the prices of tickets totaling $62,800 in revenue.
    D. Set up your third equation showing the combined number of tickets sold for the front and back row seats were equal to the number of balcony tickets sold
    E. now use the substitution or addition method to solve for the total number of tickets sold in the respective areas of the theater. Explain the answer in words ( using units) as well.

    Can you show us what you have tried or explain what you are having difficulty with understanding?

    I will start you off with some equations:
    X = number of front row seats.
    Y = number of back row seats.
    Z = number of balcony seats.
    X + Y + Z = 1000
    80X + 60Y + 50Z = 62800
    X + Y = Z

    Now, you have to solve for x, y and z. Good luck.

    I come up with

    X=112*80=8960 front seats
    Y=374*60=22440 back seats
    Z=62800/2=31400/50=628 balcony seats

    The math works out right but I'm not sure about how To find using the substitution or addition method.
