I want to get off grid and get on solar power, plan to use solar panels, controller, power inverter and deep cycle batteries. What combination of solar panels and batteries need to be able to run 3 fans, 1 fridge, 1 TV, 1 small pump, and 5 23 watt lights?

Add it all up. Watts divided by volts = amps. 1 HP (horse power) is about 750 watts. You have to do the math. Hope this helps!

You will need a lot of power. 125 watts for lights, motors, compressor for frige etc. You will probably find out the cost is way more than staying with the power company when you add up all the costs.

My advice is for you to consult with a licensed electrician that is experienced in solar systems and windmills. Or an engineer. Another source would be a local community college engineering department.

There is way too much involved then just the amount of Watts. There are structural issues, amperage, storage, conversion to AC (inverter).
