I had an electrician put in a 30 amp fuse and run the 10 amp (I believe) to where the washer dryer was going to be. That was 5 months ago... I am just now looking at putting the washer/dryer... however, I see that there is only three wires (red, white and black).. no green, which means there are only three wires at the fuse box.
Doesn't there need to be a ground wire?

P.S. Unfortunately (a)-the electricion is no longer around, (b)-the line was run 50ft...

You need to open the panel box and see where the wires go. The ground wire will go to the grounding bar and you will see many other green and bare wires attached. You did not say what voltage you have. For the washer you will need 120 volts and for the dryer you will need 240 volts. If it's the wire for the dryer the red and black are hot and the white is ground/neutral.
