    Constipation
My 7 yrs old Golden Retriever hasn't pooped in two days. She eats very little but drinks and pees fine. Can I giver her anything to help! If do, how long will it take to work?

No, you can't give her anything. Could be she has a blockage from eating something she wasn't supposed to. I think a vet visit is in order to see what is going on.

You can try giving her pumpkin. It's a natural laxetive.. so is Raw red meat. Give her a couple palm sized balls of hamburger. Yogurt and cottage cheese works as well.

Dogs rarely are constipated.. are you sure she isn't pooping? A lot of times dogs will have diarrhea and cramping, which looks like the dog is constipated. Either way, the pumpkin, cottage cheese and yogurt will help with the diarrhea.

If you know for a fact the dog hasn't gone poop, than I would suggest to go to your vet first thing Monday. Not pooping in dogs is pretty bad. As long as she is not acting painful, sucked up appearance in the belly and a gaunt look on her face, you should be OK with continuing to feed her, especially a bland diet.
