Abandon Property and a big tree
Women lives next to an abandon home. The people are in West Virginia
It has property taxes unpaid for last three years Has many rats and other violations. Problem there is giant tree that hangs over the women's property. To cut down the tree would cost $10,000. She is afraid in a hurricane the tree would come down on her home. The Florida property rolls still show the home owners in West Virginia. Can anything be done?

Report it to the town as a safety violation. If it is really a danger, the town will take it down and bill the homeowner.

Also, the company holding the mortgage and the insurer of the abandoned property (if there are any?) may be able to help.
Hope she has notified the property owners by certified letter of the hazard they have created too. And, that tree could be made much safer with some well placed cables anchored to the ground (or limb to limb) for a lot less than 10k.
She should write to some elected officials too, to try and get something moving. I am assuming that this in Fl- where hurricane season isn't too far off? Her life is in danger too- of course.
