    Install trunk weather seal
I have a 2003 sable and the trunk leaked. Purchased a new mercury product to replace the seal. Do I need to use any weather strip adhesive/seal when I install this. Appears new one has some type of sealant inside the channel that goes over a lip/ridge on the car body. Thank you.

Most rubber seals will fit in place without additional adhesive, but sometimes they can shift around a bit. I like using a little black RTV sealant on the metal lip to make sure it doesn't move. A little tube costs less than $5 available nearly everywhere (and is handy for lots of other uses). Hope this helps.
