I live in Southern California east of the coast near the desert. We have a landscape retaining wall and some of the cinder block bricks have black areas and are somewhat spongy. I believe the sprinkler dampens them when it runs. I am going to divert the sprinkler system water. What will happen to the wall? Does this sound like mold and if so what are the solutions to getting rid of it?
