My boyfriend was offered a job and has to do both hair and urine. So here's the situation... he last smoked dec 19th 12,(92 days ago)shaved his entire body around feb 20th. Hes 6'3 about 230. Mostly muscle. His head hair has grown out until just a little over an inch. But armpit hair has grown longer. So being that he shaved everything a month and a half after last smoking,shouldn't all his new hairgrowth be clean hair including armpits? His drug test is tomo march 22nd. 13. And why would a company do both tests?

Maybe he'll pass... maybe not.

A company would do both tests to be sure that the person they are hiring isn't a drug user who is trying to fool them.

But being that his hair is only just a little over an inch long... that means they can only go back about 60 days,correct?

If you don't have any hair they can't do a hair drug test but in some circumstances if you shave you complete body that might be interpreted that you have something to hide and they won't hire you. A hair drug test is meant to show consistent use over time. A 1.5 inch sample will go back 90 days. Most employers will use a basic hair drug test that has higher cutoff levels which means you could to some small amount of drug and it might not show up. I would need more info to be sure.

He had about an inch of hair grown out... just hoping that its all clean hair. Test was march 22... stil have heard anything back yet.

He was 93 days clean... thats cutting it close. But shaved his head one month and 9 days after last smoke. One inch hair should only give a 2 month history correct?
