I have what looks & feels like very dry skin on the opening of my vagina. I'm worried it may be genital warts. It's a very small area. It's not painful nor bleeding. It doesn't cause any discomfort & I just noticed it about a week ago. I'm very worried. Please answer soon.

Doesn't sound like HPV, but if you are active sexually, get it looked at. There are many skin conditions that aren't in the STD category though, more in the eczema range.

Worries will be over if you see a doctor.

Okay if she gets bad news from the doctor, worries will not be over is the way I see it.

Of course she should see a doctor. That's her only option. But you said that her worries would be over once she sees a doctor. How do you know that? If it's bad news, how will her worries be over? Her worries could just be starting.

That's the issue with your post.

Why are you guys take everything literally? Sooner the diagnosis, sooner the treatment start.

The trouble with 'worries will be over if you see a doctor' is that it is not only not necessarily true, it's also not particularly helpful. Informing someone that it's possible to have skin conditions on the genitals that are not STDs is helpful, as is the statement that any sexually active person should see a doctor.

If you want to give medical advice, try to make it meaningful, and maybe do some research before you answer.

How else are we supposed to take the written word? We can only take it literally. The lesson you need to learn from this is that you have to be clear about what you're saying. The written word is the worst form of communication. You have to make sure that what you're writing is understood, and obviously what you wrote, was misunderstood. We can't read your mind, we don't know what you meant to say, we can only go by what you write.
