I had an ultrasound and am 5 weeks pregnant, there is a sac, but no pole, is that normal this early?

Yes, at five weeks they would see the sac but not the 'pole' which is the developing fetus. Yes, that is normal, at five weeks, the fetus is smaller then a kidney bean.

I think you have to start asking questions at your next ultrasound so you stay informed about your progressing pregnancy. You have to be proactive about this and you will feel more comfortable knowing what all the developments are.
