Arizona. My daughter put a $150 hold deposit on an apartment about two weeks before the 1st of the month. No agreement was signed. The apartment was being renovated and was not ready to be moved into until the 1st. When she went to pay the $450 rent, the manager said that the $150 hold deposit was in addition to the $450 rent. Is there any way she can get the $150 back. I have asked the manager to have the owner call me?

Unless she received something in writing stating that the $150 was to be applied towards first month's rent, then she is out of luck.
