Hi, my husband is from Europe and does not have a SSN. We filed as "married jointly" this year and filled out a W-7 form, attaching a notarized copy of his passport (we live in California). Too late to ask now, but was there anything else that we should have done? It's been several weeks already and I'm just not sure if there were problems or what because we haven't heard anything. How long is it supposed to take? Any ideas on how long the tax refunds should take with a W-7 submission? Thanks in advance. :confused:

It can take up to 2 months. The IRS was processing requests for ITINs in January in about three weeks, but now the volume is a LOT higher.
