Hello everyone. My question is about getting a passport with a felony warrant. It was issued about 8 years ago and the DA said I can just pay all the fines associated with it and it will be dropped. I would love to do that but I just can't afford it at the moment. It is for theft by check out of Texas. I am about to get married and would like to take a trip but I don't know if that is going to be possible. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The DA will at some point either want a payment plan, or you in jail

So decide. What about using the money for trip to pay DA

We weren't going to spend very much money on a trip and my warrant is for $3300. There is no way I can even come close to paying this in full and they will not let me make payments.

Even though they won't "let" you make payments, if you SENT them a payment, I'll bet they'll accept it.

Plus, the deal he offered wasn't accepted by you. Maybe he wants to put your little hind end in jail now. If it were me, I'd handle it. If you get stopped by a cop for a taillight that 's out, you'll go to jail, and you'll be there for a long time. They'll take you to Texas, and if you don't have the money THEN, they'll put you in prison...

I thought I would have gone to jail too. I've been stopped several times and even went to jail one night and no one has ever mentioned Texas. I want to take care of it and I definitely don't want to go to prison. Thanks for the advice. I'm going to start making payments and go from there.
