    Thermal fuse maytag
Replaced the thermal fuse... as soon as I turned the breaker on and started the time the breaker tripped and it popped where the fuse is on the dryer? What's wrong

There's got to be something shorting out. Unplug the dryer and test the cord for continuity. Does the breaker immediately blow? Try cleaning the machine well, vacuuming out the built-up debris. Build-up of lint can cause a short, and a fire.

You need to totally tear it down and clean it and then test all of the safeties and find where you have a wire or heating element touching the body. Take each part (except motor) and wash out the built up lint deposits which is like concrete and flammable. You should change the belt, probably, and grease all bearings with white lithium grease. Dead short somewhere in the dryer. I tend to suspect heating elements first, Disconnect and turn dryer on. If it runs, you have nailed it down.
