Can I be prosecuted for statutory rape
I've been talking to this girl since 7th grade. Her mother and father agreed with it. We started talking when she was 13 and I was 16. And she got pregnant at 15. I was there when the baby was born. Me and her mother got into it when the baby turned 1. And now her mother wants to press charges on me. Is that possible?

Is it your baby? Did you have sex with her? If she was 15 and you were 18 when she got pregnant, then it is possible that she was under the age of consent. ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.

Her parents letting you date is not a license to have sex. Whether a prosecutor will take on the case since the parents waited so long is a question mark. But assuming that your local laws make it illegal for you to have had sex with her, then you clearly broke those laws.

Then did fose paper work and adopted my son without me knowing. If I get charged with the under age charge. Would I still see my son?

You are three years older than her by your own admission.. when you first started talking.. you knocked their daughter up at 15, that makes you 18 and an adult... this legally meets the definintion of statutory rape.

You very well might end up in jail and if convicted have to register as a sex offender for life.

They might have agreed to let you be friends with her... they never agreed for you to have sex with her or make her pregnant.

They aren't crazy at all... they are being good parents. YOU made some HUGE mistakes here you are going to have to face up to now.

You can be thankful that wasn't MY 15 year old daughter...

One doesn't get pregnant by merely talking. You must have been doing something more.

What does that mean? They WON'T let you see him or what? If they won't then you go to court to establish custody and visitation. They may counter with pressing rape charges but since they haven[t for 2 years, I'm not sure if they will get a prosecutor to do so at this time. It will be seen as a way to get round your parental rights.

It really would help to know your location so that we can post the laws where you live. Laws differ State to State.

You don't have to post your exact address, just your general location.
