About a week ago, I had very dark red discharge. I assumed this was due to ovulation as I usually have some kind of blood in my discharge around my ovulation date. However, every day after that I have been having a lot of bloody discharge, ranging from dark brown to bright red. The blood was not always in my discharge either, there was thin bright red blood when I wiped as well. It got progressively heavier and the last couple of days I have had to wear a liner(never enough to fill it though). This was very strange as usually I only lightly spot for one or two days during ovulation.

Yesterday I was bleeding a lot more than normal (I had to wear a pad) so I assumed I started my period. Is the second day of my period, and I am noticing that this blood looks different than my normal period. It is thin,watery, and bright red. I also had no premenstrual cramps before it started.

I am wondering if any of this is a cause for concern? Am I really on my period or has the bleeding just gotten worse? And what could be the reason for me having so much bloody discharge for 7 days straight before my period?
