    Cable wire in stink pipe
I am currently running my comcast wire through the stink pipe... I made a whole in the vent on first floor and used silicone to secure wire and opening from gases... looks great since my gutters don't have sagging wires... inspector came and told me absolutely not... I think he is mistaken, not sure why this would be a problem.

Your inspector is correct. No wires, or anything for that matter are to be run in or through any drain, waste, or vent pipe. Not to mention, drilling a hole in a drain waste or vent pipe and sealing it with silicone is not code approved.

Cable wiring is treated the same way as electrical wiring is today. There is always shock or fire potential.
