    Whole milk, bottle vs cup?
    Hello everyone. Ok so my baby girl is 11 months, meaning that I have to take away the formula next month. I have tried giving her whole milk but she does not seem to care much about it. She takes a few sips and throws the cup away! Is there any helpful tips?

    Also she has like 9 teeth already and I want to take away her bottle as well, again I have tried doing the formula in the cup but she does not want it. I already have a 9 year old boy, but I feel like I started all over again with my baby girl, plus I do not remember being this hard with my son. Tips from anyone that is going through this would be so much help! Thanks!

    Oh boy do I remember this. What a pain in the... it wasn't fun. ;)

    Have you tried mixing? Try 3/4 formula, 1/4 whole milk. Give it a few days then do 1/2 and 1/2 for another few days. Then 1/4 formula, 3/4 whole milk until you switch to 100% whole milk.

    As for the bottle, that can be tough. The thing is, if she's hungry enough, she'll give in. This is one battle you should fight.

    What I did was throw away the bottles as soon as they turned one. I told them that the bottles had to go to the babies, that the babies needed them. I took them to the store and let them pick out their own sippy cup and a toy. The deal was, if you drink out of the cup, you get the toy. If not, the toy stays with me.

    Trust me, if she wants her milk, she'll drink out of the sippy cup. Throwing away the bottles is more for you, so you don't have a crutch, can't give in. :)

    Good luck, and don't worry. I don't know a single child that still drank out of a bottle when they started school. :)

    Lol yeah it is hard and I think it is more hard for us as moms to see them cry! Yeah I plan on getting rid of the bottles as soon as She turns one no excuses! I am sure that will help me, and She will see there are no more bottles. Thanks for the tip of the sippy cup:) migtht try that:) I will have to try the mixing thing as well, I have not tried that, I usually try to offer the cup with the whole milk before the bottle because I know She is tired and wants milk, and that is when She drinks some, but then She starts to cry and I give in with the bottle. The really good thing is that She eat solids, She loves food! Thanks for the tips:)

    Let me know how it goes. Definitely let her pick out her own sippy cup. That made all the difference for me, and my babies are now 10 and 14 (not months, years). :)

    With my daughter it was the soother. She wouldn't give it up. I gathered all the soothers, put them in a bag, and told her that the soother fairy needed them for the babies. So we hung the bag on a tree. The next day, the bag of soothers was gone, and a toy was on the tree, with a note attached saying "thank you so much for giving all these soothers to the babies. Here's a toy for you to say thank you".

    They're little, but they do understand. You just have to find a way to make them accept it. :)

    I had a nice little chat with my year-old son about how he was a big boy now, and then let him throw his bottle into the wastebasket himself. *cheers* *confetti thrown* *a parade!* He never asked about it or tried to dig it out. And I like Alty's idea of mixing the formula with the milk.

    Oh I am She is growing sooo fast, and I love every minute of it! Yeah lol they are not
