I have a temperature difference problem bett. My kitchen sink and my faucet in my bathtub. My kitchen and bathroom are on the same floor about 10 feet away from each other. My house was built in 1982 and retains almost all the original fresh water lines. My hot water tank ( 40 G) is about 5 years old. It is electric. Both the kitchen faucet and the tub faucet have been replaced with in the last 10 years. The temp. at the kitchen faucet is 123 degrees. The temp. at the tub faucet is 110 degrees. The kitchen temp. is almost exactly where I've preferred it but the tub,being a steel/porcelain is too cool. HELP! Thanks!!

Most likely, your issue is to be found at the TEMPERATURE LIMITING DEVICE (TLD) required at all tub or tub/shower valves. This TLD is usually required to be set at between 112-115F maximum, and that should be plenty hot, especially if children are in your home.

If you have a SYMMONS valve, the TLD is going to be under the trim plate. Here, remove the handle and then the chrome plate to find a slotted screw head on the body of the valve... loosen to increase temperature.

Otherwise, most tub or tub/shower valves have the TLD under the handle. Here, remove handle and see what is under it. Different models have different requirements to adjust temperature. Once you find the TLD, post back with the name brand of the valve and we may be able to help with the adjustment.
