I have a Honda '94 EG6 Hatchback with a LS/VTEC swap and a GSR tranny, my clutch feels like its still stuck after I take it out, but I completely take it out but it feels like its in nuatral and stays in one place. I just put a new clutch in it but its doing the same thing. Please help?

Thoughts:

. Did you adjust the clutch pedal height, after you installed the new clutch?

. Did you inspect the shift linkages?

. Did you check to see that the clutch fork moves the throwout bearing enough? If not, check the clutch master cylinder and the clutch slave unit.

Yes, the mechanic adjusted the clutch pedal but it is kind of high. And he did bleed it. The fork moves the throwout bearing too. The car runs perfect for a short period but then it feels like there is no gear in and feels like in nautral

When you depress the pedal, can you shift it into any gear? Did the mechanic test drive the car? Did you install the correct clutch kit? It sounds like the pressure plate may not be engaging the flywheel with enough pressure. Did the mechanic machine too much off the flywheel, when he resurfaced it?

Yes, You can shift it to any gear without clutch

Yes he test drove it and the new clutch came with its clutch kit, and I really don't know if he did or not

That makes it sound like the clutch pedal is out of adjustment. It needs to be adjusted lower, in order that the clutch fully engages the flywheel. The clutch pedal height to the floor should be 164mm. Simply remove the floor mat, loosen the push rod jamb nut, and set the adjustment. You may want to remove the driver's seat for access.

Does that sound like the problem?

It sounds like it could be that Im going to try that. But would that explain how it can be in gear and not shut off or go anywear if I depress it

Yes. As you mentioned, your pedal is "kinda high." That tells me the pedal adjustment is likely off. My thought is that the clutch is always somewhat depressed, even when your foot is off the pedal. That allows you to shift gears freely.

Yes that is exactly what it does thanks I will try what you mentioned I will back too you

Great. The adjustment is easy to do and only takes several minutes.

All you really need to do is rotate the push rod just enough to lower the clutch pedal a little bit. Don't worry about getting it to exactly 164mm. Since it is an hydraulic clutch, that will take the pressure off the system and allow the pressure plate to fully squeeze the clutch disc against the flywheel. Then, you will have to depress the clutch pedal to shift gears.
