    Physics Question Help?!
    I need help solving this problem. Can you help me!! Please tell me the steps and what formula. This is my last problem and I need help!! Please and thank you

    Tarzan is hanging straight down by a vine on the edge of a cliff when a very scared Jane, being chased by wild monkeys, runs at 5.0 m/s into and grabs onto him causing them both to swing out over the edge of the cliff and up to a point that is 2.1 degrees above the cliff. If the tension in the vine when they are both on it, is 1275.3 N and Tarzanʼs mass is 2.25 times that of Janeʼs, determine the horizontal distance over the edge of the cliff that they traveled.

    First, draw a picture.

    Do you have a formula in mind?

    that's what I have so far... is that right?? I just need to plug in the numbers if its right

    m=Jane's mass
    M is the combined
    using conservation of momentum
    m*5=M*v
    or
    v=5/3.25
    and
    .5*M*v^2=M*g*h
    or
    h=v^2/(2*g)
    or
    h=25/(2*g*3.25^2)
    and
    Tan2.1=h/d
    where d is the horizontal distance over the edge

    d=h/tan2.1
