How soon can I know for sure I'm pregnant?
My husband & I are trying to conceive, I have my period the 3rd of every month. I calculated my ovulation date to be from the 13th to the 15th of last month February. It's now the 5th of March & I've not had my period & am nauseous on & off, crampy, back ache. I had a blood HCG test it was negative. But is there a chance I tested to soon? With the dates I gave when could I test & know for sure?

Exactly how did you calculate when you ovulate... not that worthless cell phone app?

No I went to my high risk ob/gyn & she said I should be ovulating 11 to 12 days after my period.

Did she run tests to determine when you as an individual ovulate? Because most women don't ovulate in that time window... some do it much early and some even do it during their period... literally, its statistically possible to put 30 women in a room with the same cycle... and have every one of them ovulate on a different day of the cycle.

But to answer the question how soon can you find out... you usually wait a few weeks after a missed period... HPT are most accurate at the 4 week after implantation point... becoming less so the earlier you test.

However a positive can be counted on... its the false negatives that increase the earlier one tests.

You said you normally get your period on the 3rd of every month. So you're only 2 days late at this point? Way too early to test.

Wait until your period is at least 2 weeks late, and then test using first morning urine. If that test is negative, wait and see if you get your next period. If you miss it as well, test again (first morning urine) or get a blood test done.

But right now, at 2 days late, it's way too early to test.

    Good luck.
