I did not hear of the man who abused me. Eight years have passed since he was deported. When I was giving birth to my first child he change my name at the hospital so the police did not arrest him at that time. So with my other son he did the samething . Now I could correct my name on the birth certificate of my children. I do not no lawyer who can help me with this. My two children have the last name of this man and I would like to correct this. Actually, proof of what happened in the criminal case is probably not necessary. What you would need to prove is that the father has had no meaningful contact with the children and doesn't pay child support (I believe it's called "child abandonment" in Georgia.). Was child support ordered?
