Guys, I am a H1 holder and my wife joined me in the states last year in September with H4. She worked for IBM for 5 months till may last year and I am filing my taxes jointly this year and I am also attaching w7 with the taxes to get her ITIN. Here are my questions? 1. On which form should I report her income in india ? Some guys referred me to form 1116 for taxes paid in india but she paid less taxes in india because of PF and others. Will we be taxed here for the amount she made in india?Help will be greatly appreciated.

If you file jointly, you must report ALL wrold-wide income made by both you AND your wife. You need to report her income on Line #7 of the Form 1040.

You also report the income on Form 1116, but you also report the INCOME taxes (Provident fund does NOT count) you paid on that income.
