And you think we would know? You need to ask the clerk of the court or the local PD's office who has been assigned to you. Its not a question we can answer especially since we don't know where you are and who you are.

If this is an arraignment, sometimes the judge appoints the PD at that time.

But as ScottGem suggests, you should call the court clerk or the PD office and find out how it works, where you are, in advance.

That's assuming that the PD has been appointed to represent the OP.
