    Single beam to span 30ft
    Garage ceiling I now have a post in the middle of the floor.I want to remove it but need to support roof only.30ft span,40lb load[snow]

    You have to get a certified architect or structural engineer to determine the size and type of beam needed. This will have to be submitted to building dept for approval.
