Kenmore Series 70 Heats but doesn't dry
I have a Kenmore series 70 that will get real hot inside the tumbler but keeps all the moister inside and the laundry will not dry. There is an air flow coming out of the back exhaust with no problem. Can anyone tell me what is wrong with my mechine, I do not want to waste time and money if I can fix the problem myself. Thanks

The air comes out the back OK but did you check on the 4 in pipe that goes outside? Sounds like it is probably plugged. Depending on the pipe length you may have some luck with putting a large shop vac on the end of the pipe outside, try it inside too.

    Thanks for your response.

I ran the dry exhaust out into my garage and not through my wall. My wall vent runs in the wall and then out the roof top. That was my first thought, so I cleaned out the wall vent. We still have the problem of it not drying completely. We have heat and plenty of it but it sttill takes too long to dry, even at 60 minutes of dryiing time. I found som moisture coming out of the vent, but load was still wet.

It really sounds like there isn't enough circulation and I'm sure you have cleaned the lint trap. You mentioned two vents; one to the garage and one out the roof. I have not seen a dryer with two vents, am I just not hearing you right? About how long is your exhaust vent?

I'm sorry, I was not clear. I ran a test on the dryer by placind the hose out into the garage. I do not have two vents, just one.

Do you have a critter guard grid on the vent terminal? Check the dryer with no 4" hooked up and see if it works. If it does that means you vent is not flowing.
