I am late with my period by a month and a half. I took a pregnancy test last night and one this morning and it showed positive. I started my period today, now I'm so confused I don't know what's going on. It's quite heavy and I'm bloated the whole time. Can someone please tell me if it's normal and what is going on?

It isn't possible to diagnose online, but early miscarriages are common and not always certain because the embryo is still so small. Heavy bleeding can be letting out the uterine lining building for pregnancy. Since you tested positive, this is the most likely situation. Sometimes it doesn't all come out, so if you get a fever, you will need to have a D&C (uterus cleaned). It doesn't hurt and is an outpatient procedure.

Your periods after this may be irregular for a month or two. If you were trying to get pregnant, I would wait a few months.
