Friend uses too much toilet paper a day?
So after paying for toilet paper for the past 6 months and go through roll after roll. I did some investigation. And so there three of in my houes my girlfriend and friend. And so about a month ago my girlfriend went on vacation and when gone we went through 5 rolls of toilet paper. I know I didn't use a lot because I don't everyday and most of the time I take it at work. So I figure it was my friend. Last week my friend was on vacation and my girlfriend and I went through almost 1 roll of toilet paper. I now concluded that he has a problem. So instead of asking for money just for toilet paper I asked for paper towels trash bags soaps and baking stuff that we ALL use for an extra $20 a month. Do you think its wrong? Should I forget about it. He dose pay me $600 month for room and it includes internet TV heat water. I don't make him pay depending on his water usage. If I did that be more then half with his two to three showers a day. Also how can someone go through that much toilet paper in a week?

I think you are being petty about toilet paper...

And you have other problems with this person and its not over how many squares of toilet paper they use to wipe their butt.

I have had roommates many times, and have always had some sort of arrangement to make sure that shared items were all chipped in on. But I never charged that much rent, so you decide what your overall income/expenses look like.
Maybe he's taking some somewhere else... a girlfriend, work. I am a woman and I use tons. I've never known a man who used much!

If he takes that many showers a day, he is in the bathroom a lot and probably uses toilet paper as tissue to clean his glasses, wipe off the sink top, blow his nose, use it as intended, and who knows what else and why. Buy the cheap Scot bulk multi-rolls at Walmart. We are three people here at my house and go through a roll every two days.

I tried making my own out of newspaper and bleach left outdoors. Didn't work.
    I stock up whenever there's a sale.

Bleach? Not wet beach right? That doesn't sound good...

You know if he stops using the same amount of terlit paper and he continues to have the same issues, there might be additional icky problems down the road.

Be careful what you wish for grasshopper.

Why not get everyone to pitch in and make it equal. One month you pay for the household needs, one month your girlfriend pays, and then one month the friend pays. Maybe if he has to pay for it for a month, he'll realize how much he's wasting.

My son has a bunch of housemates in college. They chip in for a huge supply of paper towels, napkins, toilet paper, dish soap, etc. They split it 5 ways. When it runs out, they split the cost again. If I were you, I'd stop sweating the small stuff and buy the roughest brand of TP for him and hide the good stuff somewhere for you and your girlfriend. He should get the message sooner than later.

Like when camping, we bring our own to the outhouse.

Just thinking about having to use a outhouse makes me cringe. I may not be camping material unless there are neon lights and it says "MARRIOTT"!

My husband is the camper. I went along with it for the first years of our marriage until we had our first baby, and then I said no thanks. Can you imagine going camping (musty pup tent, cooking on a two-burner Coleman stove) with a baby? Husband can emerge from his tent and beat his chest in the frigid morning air. Not me. I'm a five-star hotel girl now (and always was).

So I'm all for the OP to work out some deal regarding their commonly used paper products.

Campers don't have the luxury of an outhouse... they squat down on top of a poison ivy bush and have at it.
