    Sleeper Sofa
Overstock.com has a lot of complaints online . Sears sells a lot of their products.
Do you believe Sears will stand by their sale.?
I trust Sears more than Overstock.com

I don't understand the question. Sears and Overstock carry the same product line? I don't think Overstock manufactures anything - or does it?

My experience with Sears is that they stand between their products. I've never had an issue.

I do find their "out of warranty" repair charges are very high. Sears raked me over the coals with a lawn tractor out of warranty this past Summer.

Yes I could buy the sofa directly from overstock online. Sear locally sells overstock items. And
The same sofa. But if something goes wrong I could go locally and complain, rather than deal with the problem online.

I'm suspicious of large items on line for the reason you state - something goes wrong and you're wrestling furniture to UPS to return it!

    That is my opinion also.

I have purchased items from Sears which they describe as coming from other companies. You have to read their small print carefully to determine which company is to be contacted for which type of problem you might experience.
Quoted portion below is an excerpt from this site:
Sears Marketplace: More Products, More Value

    They describe 3 different possibilities:

    "what is marketplace at sears.com

Marketplace at sears.com is a community of sellers working with Sears providing you with millions of additional items. We partner with thousands of sellers to offer you more of the unique products you want.
    How does it work?

There are three ways sellers partner with us:

    Sold and shipped by seller
Marketplace items are shipped directly from our sellers to you.
Sellers are responsible for all returns and customer service.

Sold by seller, shipped by Sears
Marketplace items are shipped from Sears’ own warehouse to you.
Sears is responsible for all returns and customer service.

    Advertised on Sears by seller
Marketplace items are advertised on Sears.com but are actually purchased from the seller’s web site (using the “Go to Site” button).
Once on the seller’s site, any purchase you make is processed through that seller’s checkout. They have sole responsibility for the entire transaction."

Oh that is good information. I will have to button down the purchase, before I make any sale
