Is this the same cat with the eye problem? It sounds like the cat threw up a hairball.

Did you see -- I added the comment about a hairball.

    Is this an outdoor cat?

How long have you had it?

Since you're already going to the vet about the eye issue, mention this when you're there as well. Sadly we can't diagnose online, we can only guess. I would agree with WG and guess that it's a hairball, but that's just a guess.

How long have you had the cat? He has never done this before?

If it was indeed a hairball, you would do well to buy a brush that is good and appropriate for cat brushing and use it every day so he licks off and swallows less of his fur when he grooms himself.

That was a hairball... You can go to Petsmart and get a paste for your kitty to eat that helps with hairballs

Where did you go to vet school? I've never known a vet that can diagnose online. How can you?

My cat does it a lot its hairballs. You can get stuff for them to lick to alleviate it a bit. Bit of oily fish is good for them too.
